Leadership Conversations

Since March 2013, ULP has hosted an average of 10 Leadership Conversations with different captains of industry. This session mostly take place on the first Thursday of every month at ULP House in Midrand. These sessions are attended by young professionals from a wide range of industries. The young professionals identify as, and are considered mentees of, ULP. The talks are generally attended by one hundred (100) to one hundred and twenty (120) mentees of ULP.

The format of the talks was that the executives were invited to share their leadership experience and chart their journey to success for the audience. Each leader’s public introspection led to the identification of what they regarded as the critical characteristics that helped them stand out as leaders. In the main portion of their talk, the participants addressed the following items, which were sent to them prior to the session:

What events or episodes stand out in your career as a leader?
What are the things that have led to a lasting change in your approach to leadership?
Share key events in your career, i.e. things that made a difference in the way you lead others.
